While originally hailing from Manhattan, Kansas, Phil McCormick has called Tampa Bay home for nearly three decades. After receiving his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida in 2004, Phil returned home to Tampa Bay to attend Stetson University College of Law from where he received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2007.
While attending Stetson University College of Law, he served as an Editor for the Stetson Law Review. Since becoming a member of the Florida Bar in 2007, Phil enjoyed the privilege of representing a diverse group of individuals, healthcare professionals, clinics, and hospitals in a myriad of legal matters, including personal injury claims; insurance payment disputes; entity and partnership formation and dissolution; and Federal, AHCA, and Joint Commission regulatory compliance. As a result, he offers experienced, aggressive, and goal-oriented representation to individuals and healthcare providers involved in personal injury matters, complex commercial disputes, and insurance payment disputes. Phil is a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association. At Shuster and Saben, Phil focuses his practice on vigorously litigating on behalf of healthcare providers that become involved in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) payment disputes and representing injured individuals in personal injury matters. Phil is the managing attorney at the Tampa/St. Petersburg office of Shuster & Saben.
In his time away from the office, Phil is a strong supporter of the performing arts. He is a former Board Director of Stageworks Theatre in Tampa and enjoys musical theatre.
